Full Time Employee
Job Type: Full-Time; 10-month
Pay Range: $13,000 – $20,000 (hourly pay dependent on experience and number of classes per week)
General Responsibilities
Provide developmentally appropriate music instruction as well as planning for and executing school and community performances. Position could include instruction for elementary and/or middle/high school aged students.
Essential Tasks
- Develop and implement developmentally-appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum guidelines and learning needs of students
- Provide instruction in musical concepts, including rhythm, pitch, timber, and form
- Provide instruction in both vocal and instrumental music. Instruments may include hand bells, recorders, and Orff instruments
- Provide instruction in music appreciation as it applies to the development and enhancement of culture
- Prepare students for school and community performances
- Collaborate with members of the special area team and after school club sponsors as needed
- Support school administration in further development of the music program
- Report student progress on trimester report cards
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in fine arts
- Prior experience leading group music lessons to students of varying ages and abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of neurodivergent learners
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Desire to work as a member of a team
- Ability to differentiate instruction as it relates to music
- Supportive, flexible disposition
