Summit Academy Families and Staff,
As recommended by Governor Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Department of Education, Summit Academy will be CLOSING BEGINNING MONDAY, MARCH 16 through FRIDAY, APRIL 3. SCHOOL IS SCHEDULED TO RESUME ON MONDAY, APRIL 6.
Given we are experiencing a worldwide pandemic, we believe joining the majority of schools in our area and state in closing for the next three weeks is the correct course of action. Our students and our staff are our most precious resources and everyone’s health and safety is at the center of our decision.
As stated in our previous communication, Summit Academy will be continuing instruction remotely for all grade levels. Your student’s teachers will communicate directly with you regarding what that will look like and what the expectations are. Please note that this will vary per grade level.
If your student is not at school today, Friday, March 13, you will need to communicate with their teachers as to whether or not you need to come to school to obtain necessary educational materials. Should you need to make an arrangement to obtain something, Summit staff will be on site from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. during the remote learning days. Please communicate your need and anticipated time of arrival in advance.
Visit KYCOVID19.ky.gov for current information regarding COVID-19 in the state of Kentucky.
Please know that our staff will be doing additional cleaning and sanitizing of all of our buildings during this time. We appreciate you understanding this difficult decision and look forward to getting everyone back as soon as possible. Further communication will be sent when appropriate.
